Let Kids Be Kids Linky 22/10/13

I have really enjoyed the let kids be kids linky so much, I have started developing a bit of a passion for the subject. For this reason. I didn’t feel it fitted under the twin theme of this current site, therefore, I have set up a new home for it at www.letkidsbekids.co.uk.

I am developing the new blog/site in order to raise awareness for getting back to basics, allowing children to play, and have genuine basic childhood fun. I do hope you will also join me at its new location.

Please, come link up your posts about childhood fun at www.letkidsbekids.co.uk. I hope to see you there :-)

Let Kids Be Kids 15/10/13

Let Kids Be KidsThis is a linky about letting kids be kids.

In this modern world we live, it is so easy to get caught up in technology and the fast pace of life. These days, children often have to grow up too quickly and I believe frequently miss out on just being children. We need to let our children get back to basics and have genuine childhood fun.

Last week, we wanted to make the most of the only gorgeous day, so as we love autumn walks, we went on a sound walk. My girls loved it. It brought something different to an otherwise ordinary walk. We have also been getting creative with some autumn creativity, making nature monsters and leaf printing etc.

I have been very busy this week trying desperately hard (with my very non technical brain), to set up my new website for let kids be kids. It has taken me all week and several very late nights to get it working! But, I have finally done it, so now I get down to work with designing and adding content. Hopefully I shall have it up and ready for use soon.

Last weeks posts as usual were great links, including, an amazing pirates treasure chest from Time to craft. There was a beautiful day out to Chorlton Water park via We3three and some lovely kite flying with Nonmonster.

There’s not may rules, just link up your posts, old or new, about genuine childhood fun (of any age). It may be fun outdoors, jumping in puddles, nature hunts, riding bikes or making mud pies. Or it may be fun indoors with arts and crafts, making dens, cooking, messy play or reading. Or how about visiting a farm or fun at a fete. Or a discussion about kids growing up too fast, etc.

Whatever basic fun you have been having or discussing, link up and share your ideas, visit others to get inspiration, but most importantly, HAVE FUN!

This linky will open every Tuesday for 6 days, so there’s plenty of time to add your posts.

Please spread the word and grab my badge from my sidebar if possible.

This last week we have been busy baking daddy a rocket birthday cake and going on autumn walks to make some great crafts with our nature findings.

I have also been busy thinking about ‘let kids be kids’ and I have come to the conclusion that it needs a new home. I feel it doesn’t really fit well under the twinlife theme, so I have bought the domain name ‘letkidsbekids’ and am now in the process of setting up a new site specifically for ‘let kids be kids’. I will let you all know when I have finally managed to get it up and running. I hope you will all join me there too. In the mean time, letkidsbekids linky will continue here.

Thank you to everyone who linked up last week, as always, we had some great posts. We had a bit of beach fun with rolling down sand dunes via Family Fever. There was some fun messy play over at Nommonster with flour and fairies and an amazing scarecrow weekend with a day in this dads life.

There’s not may rules, just link up your posts, old or new, about genuine childhood fun (of any age). It may be fun outdoors, jumping in puddles, nature hunts, riding bikes or making mud pies. This week we have been busy making stick puppets and having fun using our imagination with lots of story telling. We have also been out in the garden pruning together getting it ready for the winter (I will be writing about that shortly).

Last weeks linky saw another lot of great posts with lots of ideas and inspiration. I always find it difficult to choose three favourites, as they are all so good, but here goes….

There is a great autumn bucket list over at We’re going on an adventure so much so, it inspired me to write my own autumn activity list.

I loved the poem over at Distressed Housewife very funny and so true! Go have a read.

Over at Sarahs wacky world there was a cub camp. I had to include this, as it brought back so many childhood memories for me from my guiding days.

Last week has been a bit hectic, trying to get back into the normal school routine, but it is still important to allow children to find time for themselves, to have free play and fun. Childhood is precious, we need to cherish every moment.

Last weeks linky, again saw some lovely posts, here are my three favourites:

An amazing time camping with children and friends, producing great childhood memories via a field somewhere.

We’re going on an adventure showed a perfect example of what childhood is all about.

There was an amazing den (I am very jealous of) over at more than a momma
