I have been nominated for a Blog Your Heart Out award by the lovely Mummy Tries. This is the first Meme I have taken part in, largely due to not previously having time, but I thought, I should have a try, so here goes. The rules of this one are simple, answer five questions, nominate five more blogs to continue the meme and learn a bit more about the person writing.
Here are my answers……
What/Who encouraged you to start blogging?
I first started blogging by accident. When my twins arrived, I was unable to return to work, but I desperately wanted to keep my brain active, so I decided to set up a website about twins. It look me a long time to work out how to do this, as I had no technical skills what so ever, hey, I come from a nursing background! Once I had written enough pages, I then started writing on the blog page and it just grew from there. A few months later, I developed a passion for another topic, so I set up a 2nd blog ‘Let kids be kids’, all about basic childhood fun in a modern world. Now I am desperately searching for the time to write both!
How did you choose what topics to blog about?
Initially, I was interested in twins, I found the subject fascinating and wanted to share my experiences with others, who might benefit from knowing they are not alone with the twin issues. Then whilst writing about twins, I discovered I also loved writing about childhood fun, basic play, crafting and various activities children do, so I naturally progressed to my second subject of Let kids be kids.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I have a bit of an anxiety of new social situations. I find it very scary to be in a room full of people I don’t know (I know lots of people are nervous about this), but I get really nervous, so what on earth possessed me to buy a ticket to Britmums live 2014, I have no idea, when I have not yet met any other blogger!! Who else is going??
What 3 words describe your style?
Honest, passionate and caring.
What do you like to do when you are not blogging?
I love spending time with my family first and foremost, crafting and getting out and about having fun. I also like playing the tenor horn in a local brass band, as well as catching up with friends whenever the opportunity allows.
My nominees are as follows.
Hope you will join in, I would love to learn more about you.
